day 1... blog

Star - date 7 two, six, 9-er....

Yes, you caught a "9-er" in there.... this must be a walki-talki.

Work would not be the appropriate title for what i do 40 hours a week. Work would imply that there is something to do... that things need to be done. However, this is far from the truth. There is nothing to do… no things to get done. In a time where losses are in B-illions and the stock price is less than a cup of coffee, work and of course expenses, are at an all time low. And because work is passed from high to low, this leaves little to trickle down to me.

I think everyone has dreamed of a job where they get paid but (shhhhh) don’t have to do anything!

“Whats your dream job?” Like if you had a million dollars what would you do?” “Nothing, I’d do nothing.” “You don’t have to be rich to do that, my cousins broke, don’t do jack!” – Office Space

Well, let me tell you, it’s not so great. Do you know how long 8 hours is when there is nothing to do? I am probably the most well read person on news and events in the Pacific North West. I cant wait for more breaking news to come out just so I can read... a good story can take up to 5 minuets! Not having anything to do, there is no sense of accomplishment, no pride in your work, no real reason to even be here, other than the dwindling hope of a new project or something new might come up to work on.

I guess, in a way, this is my summer vacation. Im in doors, with the a/c blasting, munching on snacks, and drinkin coffee, but I have traded the flicker of the TV for the glow of a monitor.

“Schools out for the summer .... Schools out for EVER!” .
